I’m going to be flying on one of these beauties tomorrow morning from ORD > SLC (and will subsequently disappear from Oppo for a bit :P). Now I consider myself a fan of aviation and have some limited “trivia” type knowledge about some planes, but nothing like what I know with smarts!
What are some cool facts about the Bombardier CRJ900?

As it’s Delta, I think
it’s just row
11 that sucks.

Despite being Canadian, the CRJ900 is quite interesting and attractive

It’s made out of Beaver tails and Maple Syrup.
Also it says sorry even when you arrive on time

Visiting my grandparents for the first time ever. For whatever reason, my parents decided to visit family instead of being disconnected from everyone.

Do civilian jet engines have something tokeep noise down? I’m curious, because A10s are so loud you can’t hear yourself think. I can’t imagine something like that flying over cities/taking off etc.

you say that like being Canadian is a Bad thing.

I dont know what noise mitigation these have, only that they are in the same engine family. Jets are loud though, even really quite ones.

Do you have a theory why everyone drives like a total brain dead psychopathic moron in utah? I can’t figure it out.

Because most people drive like a brain dead psychopath, and there are people in Utah....that my guess. Now Utah valley on the other hand...

If it’s like United it has the WORLDS WORST SEATS with ZERO padding.
Though I’ve never had that problem with a Delta seat even on short hops.

The older crj’s have an impossibly small toilet, the one I was on two weeks ago had wood flooring in the restroom! It was a bit old.

CRJ 900: somewhat less awful than a CRJ 200.
Signed a Delta frequent flier.

Service ceiling is 41,000 feet, which I think is pretty high for a passenger jet. I could be wrong.

I was there last weekend driving between SLC and Lehi and I had no such luck.

Sorry I missed the call out. I appreciate your thinking of me, though. Hammerhead mentioned pretty much the only interesting thing about what is otherwise a rather boring but utilitarian aircraft. I don’t think I’ve ever even flown on one.
Here’s a fun story, and one you might be able to relate to after your trip. The tale takes place on a CRJ 700, and your 900 is 12 feet longer, though it does have lavatories fore and aft. Keep that in mind as you read.

Have a safe trip!

Of course I had to give you a shout!!! I mean, you’re pretty much Oppo’s premier plane guy! :)
It was a safe trip! We sat in row 19, the very last window row and the plane had only 20 rows total, so we were right next to both the lavatory and the engines!
Funny enough, the plane had issues just getting off the ground. Firstly, they had to do a hard reset of the APU, then they had to alternate start the engines.
Which, I’m not sure if is a normal noise, but the engines made an incredible annoying buzz at high thrust. Like, I love the sound of them so much. But during takeoff and the initial climb, they sounded like a bicycle spoke with a playing card in it...going at high RPM.
Also, the lavatories (both of them) had a line throughout the entire flight...which on a plane with an aisle that impossibly small, made life suck for the stranger in aisle seat next to me!
